Bourne Urges Drivers to Sign up for License Sticker Notices

Litchfield….State Representative Avery Bourne (R-Raymond) is reminding motorists that Secretary of State Jesse White’s office will no longer be mailing notifications to vehicle owners reminding them to renew their license plate stickers. Bourne says the New Year is a good time to sign up online for the notices.
“Due to budget cuts and the overall lack of a state budget, the Secretary of State is no longer mailing out notices for license plate sticker renewals,” Bourne said. “Instead, they are urging motorists to visit their website to sign up for e-mail notifications.”

Bourne is encouraging motorists to visit to request their sticker renewal notice be emailed to them.

“These email notifications will hopefully help prevent late fees or an issue with law enforcement," Bourne said. “Luckily the electronic option is not only quick and easy, but also cost effective."

Drivers are reminded that in order to sign up they will need their registration card, which has their registration ID number and PIN number. A valid email address is also required. For motorists that do not renew their vehicle sticker on time, a $20 additional fee will apply.
